Jordi Curós Ventura (Olot, Girona, 1930 - Barcelona, 2017) Painter and printmaker.
Born in Olot in 1930, after an initial artistic formation at the School of Arts in his hometown, he worked in the religious imagery workshops of Olot El Arte Cristiano. In the early fifties, a restless group of artists from Girona formed the Indika collective, one of the first avant-garde groups in the country. In 1954 he obtained a scholarship from the Institut Français de Barcelona to study in Paris. Upon his return he settled permanently in Barcelona. In 1958, the Barcelona City Council granted him another scholarship to widen his studies in Paris. It is the period of informalism, which he abandoned in the mid-sixties, coinciding with his entry into the Parés room in Barcelona, giving way to a more figurative painting, a direction in which he remained subsequently.
