Official 1960 Rome Summer Olympic Games torch, with base perspet. Constructed of bronzed aluminium, measuring 40 cm (15.5") in length, weights 580 gr without base, about 1600 pieces in total. Mnufactured by the Curtisa firm of Bologna. Designed by Amedeo Maiuri, a renowned Italian archaeologist famous for his studies of the Roman site of Pompeii.
