Description from the seller
Title: Afterimage
Technique: Oil on wood
Dimensions: 19 × 17 cm
Thickness: about 2 cm
Year: 2026
Signature: signature on the back
Condition: very good
A unique work created in oil on a slab of raw wood with an irregular, organic shape.
The portrait of a woman has been consciously deconstructed through horizontal shifts and distortions of the image, creating a visual interference effect. The composition balances between figuration and controlled deformation.
Warm, saturated palette of reds, umbers, and beiges contrasts with the dark area of the background, building a strong visual presence. The visible brushstroke texture emphasizes the material character of the work.
The irregular shape of the wooden support gives the object a partly sculptural character.
The work exists in a single copy.
The painting is ready to hang.
The painting persists in perception after the disappearance of the visual stimulus.
