Description of the work :

In a heavy, frozen atmosphere, an empty, abandoned pool stretches out under a threatening sky. The diving board, solitary and rusted, seems to hang above the void, like a promise of a push toward nowhere. The swim lanes, the crosses on the walls, the flaking concrete… everything recalls absence, the echo of a past era when the screams of children and the sparkle of water were still alive. Today, there is only silence, and a strange sensation of frozen eternity.

“This deserted diving board, above a waterless pool, evokes our inner vertigo. The jump that will never come. The preparation without the impulse. The desire to dive into the unknown, but the absence of depth to welcome us. This image is a metaphor for our fears, our frozen expectations. I also see there the raw beauty of abandonment: that precise moment when the place ceases to serve… to simply exist. Like a sanctuary of shadows and memories.”
