Description from the seller
Title: “While I Listen About Alan Moore” (2019)
Original work, unique.
Mixed media (acrylic, spray, marker, ink) on canvas.
Format: 47 x 73 cm.
Year: 2019.
In "While I Listen About Alan Moore", Rafa López pays visual homage to one of the most brilliant and complex minds of contemporary storytelling. The work arises from an immersive creative process, where the ideas of the celebrated comic book writer permeate the canvas, transforming into a geography of intertwined shapes and concepts.
Analysis of the work:
The composition is a display of Pop Surrealism and Neoexpressionism. Following the atmosphere of Moore's stories, the canvas becomes a palimpsest where reality and myth are blended. The viewer can find veiled references to the world of the ninth art, but always under the personal and chaotic filter of the artist, where the line between the structured and the gestural disappears.
Technically, the piece stands out for the freshness of the stroke and the depth of its planes. Rafa López uses the marker to define almost calligraphic details that guide the eye through this intellectual map.
Logistics and shipping:
The artwork is delivered with a stretcher frame. Packaged with bubble wrap and covered with cardboard..
The canvas includes additional painted margins that allow the image to continue smoothly around the sides of the stretcher, offering a contemporary and high-quality finish.
Hand-signed on the lower left edge and on the back. Includes an authenticity certificate from the artist.
