Maresquino - Persona - XXL

Persona is a reflection on identity as the role we show to the world. Instead of a face, a surrogate sign appears — surreal, slightly ironic, and at the same time unsettling — which makes the characters more of a symbol than a portrait. The work nods to the poetics of René Magritte, blending the elegance of everyday life with a paradox that prompts the question of who we really are, and who we are merely "for show."

In "Persona" the contrast between a classical, almost official pose and the absurd, which takes over the function of a face, is especially pronounced. This move shifts attention away from individual features and toward the very mechanism of representation — a mask, convention, social costume. The image remains visually light, yet it carries tension: what is familiar and elegant is subtly pushed toward the metaphor, where humor meets an existential question.

The work is based on an original concept, with subsequent stages realized using digital graphics tools (including AI), grounded in precise guidelines concerning composition, mood, and style conveyed by the artist.
The final form of the piece was developed entirely by hand. The ultimate result stems from individual aesthetic decisions aimed at achieving the expression and emotional depth desired by the artist.

The piece was printed on high-quality 300 g canvas using a high-resolution latex printer in a giclée style.
The work is shipped rolled in a tube and packed in a rectangular container for safe transport.
