Description from the seller
Contained Tension
This string art piece explores the female body through tension and disappearance. No line is drawn. The silhouette emerges slowly, constructed by thousands of black threads each stretched one by one, intertwining until light and shadow are born.
Up close, the entanglement seems almost chaotic. The threads cross, vibrate, overlap. Stepping back, the body appears. The form is revealed by density, the solid areas and the breathing. Nothing is traced, everything is suggested.
The posture, bent and restrained, evokes a silent strength. An arm is hinted above the head, almost erased, as if absorbed by the overall tension of the composition. The movement is not spectacular; it is interior. A presence that is built through nuance, between fragility and assertion.
About 5,000 thread passes were needed to reach this balance. Each tension contributes to building the volume, depth, and subtlety of the contrasts. The gesture is repetitive, precise, patient. It imposes a nearly meditative rhythm.
Depending on the angle and distance, the work changes. The crossings become matter, then image. The gaze reconstructs what the thread suggests.
This piece is an absolute one-of-a-kind work. It will never be reproduced. The composition, the tension, and the distribution of the threads cannot be recreated identically.
Artwork signed on the back by the artist.
Technique
String art made entirely by hand.
About 5,000 passes of thread stretched between 260 nails, all visible and embraced as an integral part of the work.
Materials
MDF panel
Very fine nylon thread (0.1 mm)
Brass nails
More than 20 hours of manual work.
Original work and absolute one-of-a-kind piece, not reproducible identically.
Signed on the back.
Contemporary creation.
