Walt Wynn, Manufacture, 1966, oil on canvas in a multicoloured palette, original edition, 60 × 50 cm, signed in the plate and hand-signed, in good condition.
Description from the seller
This expressive work by the Belgian artist Walt Wynn depicts an industrial landscape scene with a factory, chimney, and stylized trees under a dramatically clouded sky.
The architectural forms are simplified and forcefully rendered, with an emphasis on silhouette and rhythm.
The composition breathes a modernist atmosphere in which industry and landscape fuse.
The buildings with triangular roof shapes and the tall chimney create a strong horizontal-vertical tension.
The sky is dynamically painted with broad, swirling brushstrokes that suggest movement and atmosphere. The color palette is rich and earthy: deep reddish-brown tones, greens, and dark blues alternate with lighter accents in ocher and gray.
The paint is applied loosely and visibly, with layered textures that give the work a tangible, almost raw appearance.
It is a unique and original work from 1966.
Not a reproduction, but an authentic painting from the artist’s early period and now about sixty years old.
Oil on canvas, with expressive brushwork and evident texture.
The condition is good and in keeping with the age: normal, slight signs of aging appropriate for a work of about six decades old.
Naturally, the painting is not new, but it is maintained and in a stable state.
A characterful and powerful work of art that comes into particularly strong relief in a modern, industrial, or eclectic interior.
