AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

A remarkable bronze figure that, according to Dogon mythology, represents the first human figure. Amma, the ruler of the universe, created the first man and started from a fish, adding as the first element the female organ, and only afterwards the other body parts. Among the Bambara, the first woman would have been made from humus and possess zoomorphic and anthropomorphic characteristics.
In the book L'Univers Akan by G. Niangoran, this type of figure is depicted. (see photo). The author notes that this piece was found in a Dja (bundle of gold weights) with the form of a sea creature and a tail.

We have not seen such an object depicted elsewhere; it is clearly a unique piece.
