Koya is a French DPLG architect by trade and has been a painter since adolescence. Working on projects focused on Californian architectures, both private and public, he has long been passionate about American architecture from the 1940s-60s. For his creations, he draws inspiration notably from architects and designers such as Mallet-Stevens, Le Corbusier, Gropius, Mies van der Rohe, Arne Jacobsen, Gio Ponti, Frank Lloyd Wright, Rietveld, Niemeyer, Alvar Aalto…
He uses AutoCAD Architecture software for his pictorial creations, which allows him to model buildings in 3D. Following this, in the manner of David Hockney whom he venerates, he uses his graphic tablet to paint his “model,” radically transforming these architectures into magical landscapes.
In these works you can find inspirations of David Hockney, but also those of Thierry Lefort, Ruslan Kolomiyets, Lionel Borla as well as photographers Richard Dunkley and Slim Aarons.
Dive now into the unique and magnificent universe of Koya for a journey you won’t want to end.
