One 20th‑century Tibetan gilded bronze statue of Garuda (Khyung), 20.5 cm high, 21.5 cm wide, 7.5 cm deep, weighing 1.6 kg, with provenance from Antiekmarkt.

Garuda (Sanskrit) / Khyung (Tibetan: ཁྱུང་) - the mythical bird king
Half man, half eagle - protective deity in Buddhism
Enemy of naga (snakes) and a symbol of spiritual power.
Physical characteristics:
Bird head with a sharp beak and crown/diadem
Human body with a muscular torso in a dynamic pose
Outstretched wings with a detailed feather structure in gilt bronze
Powerful talons as feet, standing on a lotus throne
Staff/scepter held horizontally (possibly a naga/snake)
Symbolism:
Protection against negative forces and obstacles
Wisdom that pierces through illusions
Speed and spiritual transformation
Often associated with Vajrapani or as an independent guardian
