Description from the seller
The peacock, symbol of nobility and vitality, stands out powerfully while blending into the surroundings. Its plumage could not be denser, more abundant, or richer, and it wears it with pride; so long and abundant is it that it dissolves at the bottom of the painting to wherever we want to imagine it reaches. It may never end. I always wonder if a peacock is aware of the beauty it carries. On the grand tour everyone wanted to possess some of its feathers, perhaps for a fan or simply to be one of the fortunate ones. Plumage that never goes unnoticed and has a nostalgic air, of that great tour that only some could enjoy. This work ships in a cardboard box. María Burgaz (born 1970) knew from a very young age that her calling was art. She began her training at the School of Decorative Arts in Madrid, earned a Fine Arts degree in Painting from the Complutense University of Madrid in 1993, and later completed her studies at FIT in New York. She has won competitions such as the Wellington Foundation, Professional Football Foundation, Woman and Society, Iberdrola-UEX, UNED, Eugenio Hermoso, Gran Casino de Torrelodones…her work, in addition to being part of the collections of these institutions, can also be found in the councils of municipalities such as Gibraleón, Valdemoro, Martos, Horche, and Alicante Province… She has held dozens of individual and group exhibitions both in Spain and abroad, and her work is also in numerous private collections around the world. Her driven and enthusiastic manner has led her to participate in all kinds of projects and to collaborate with designers, writers, and anything that allows her to express everything she carries inside. Her work always reveals the stage she is living through, her vitality, and her particular sense of humor and way of understanding life, always with mastery of techniques that she combines and juxtaposes to create unique paintings of great narrative and technical richness. Her works always include a certificate of authenticity.
