This is a very distinctive photograph by the well-known Sicilian photographer Calogero Cascio, taken in 1963 in Nepal, in Kathmandu, during one of his important photographic assignments.
Calogero Cascio was one of the finest Italian photographers of the 20th century; he worked independently and for agencies and famous newspapers, and he was also, together with photographer Caio Mario Garrubba, the founder of Realphoto in Rome.
This is a genuine vintage photograph, large in size, duly stamped by Calogero Cascio, and it represents, as handwritten on the back, a monkey at the window of a temple, in Cascio’s renowned assignment, which captured moments of life in the capital of Nepal in 1963, including characteristic images of the exterior of houses, typical of the place.
Excellent overall condition; the photo is large format, namely 35.8 x 23.6 cm.
