AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

READY TO FLY is a 70 x 100 cm painting by Flavia Delgado that pays homage to the aesthetics of vintage aviation posters and the imagery of aerial adventure. The work captures the moment just before takeoff, that instant charged with tension, anticipation, and the promise of freedom.

The frontal composition of the airplane, with the propeller occupying the center of the scene, creates a sense of strength and determination. The high-angle framing amplifies its monumental presence, while the open sky and broad clouds reinforce the idea of amplitude and an infinite horizon.

The use of bold black outlines and vibrant color planes connects the piece with the language of pop art and mid-20th-century advertising graphics. The contrast between the deep blue of the sky, the bright whites, and the red accents of the text adds dynamism and visual clarity.

The bold typography at the top —“READY TO FLY”— functions as a statement of intent. It is not merely a descriptive phrase, but a mental state: readiness for change, movement, and risk. The work dialogues with the pioneering spirit of aviation and with the contemporary metaphor of flight as a symbol of self-improvement.

READY TO FLY turns a machine into a symbol. It is an image that speaks of impulse, courage, and the desire to expand, merging aesthetic nostalgia with modern energy in a direct and powerful composition.

Seller's Story

I present a pictorial work line strongly linked to illustration and artistic poster design. My works combine the language of classic poster art with the plastic freedom of contemporary painting: flat colors, defined contours, direct scenes, and a clear narrative sense. My work dialogues with the tradition of 20th-century poster art, especially with the universe of Art Deco and European and North American advertising posters, where authors like A. M.. Cassandre, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, and Leonetto Cappiello used synthetic imagery and color for visual impact. There are also affinities with European comic graphics and the clear line, from Hergé to modern editorial illustration. In my paintings, I depict interiors, architectures, figures, and travel scenes—such as roads, vintage cars, or landscapes—approached from a graphic perspective reminiscent of posters and illustrated books, but transferred to the realm of painting on paper and canvas. I aim for each image to function like a frame or a narrative poster, capable of suggesting a broader story without needing to explain it.
