In theWork System, the artist confronts the duality between obedience and rebellion, tradition and dissent. The female figure, recalling the classic glamour of a golden era, emerges marked by symbols of contemporary counterculture: tattoos, piercings and identity scars. The phrase “school kills artists” engraved on the neck echoes as a manifesto against institutions that shape, repress, and limit creativity.
The halo above the head ironizes the idea of purity and holiness, suggesting that even within a “system” there can be a sacred space of resistance. The background, with urban strokes and warm tones, reinforces the street atmosphere and authenticity.
System is a portrait of the constant tension between the individual and the structure, beauty and dissent, art and repression.
About Hione
Native of Porto, Hione is a visual artist who, since 2013, transforms walls into works of art, using graffiti as his main form of expression. His career, which began on the city’s streets, reflects a deep connection with urban culture. Each creation is a unique fusion of vibrant colors and bold shapes.
Over the years, Hione has developed a distinctive style that transcends the conventions of traditional graffiti, integrating elements of contemporary art, illustration, and graphic design. His work is presented in public and private contexts, always with the aim of provoking reflection and inspiring the audience.
With more than a decade of experience, Hione has learned to bring his art to new audiences, having participated in various exhibitions and collaborative projects.
At this moment, Hione continues to challenge the limits of graffiti, deepening his exploration in the field of figurative art and keeping a keen eye on the evolution of his personal style, as well as the impact of his art on the world around him.
