Description from the seller
Duprè (active in Tuscany, second half of the 20th century)
Tuscan Campaign, 1972
Oil on faesite
Framing-free dimensions: 20 x 30 cm
Framed dimensions: 35.5 × 45.5 cm
Original painting realized in 1972 in oil on faesite, a technique widely used in the seventies for the stability and compactness of the support. The work is attributed to Duprè, a painter active in Tuscany in the second half of the 20th century, listed in the Sartori Art Dictionary.
In the 1970s the artist is recorded among the members of the Gruppo d’Arte Pittori Toscani – Lido di Camaiore (LU), with reference to Studio d’Arte Tintori, as evidenced by authenticity labels and stamps applied on the back of several contemporaneous works. This documented inclusion in a local associative context qualifies his activity within the Tuscan painting production of that period.
The work can be linked to the Tuscan figuration of the late 20th century, with affinities to the post-impressionist tradition and to the Versilian landscape painting of the Seventies.
The work is in good conservational condition. The contemporary frame shows slight signs of wear and small imperfections; it is offered as a courtesy and does not constitute a point of dispute in case of damages due to shipping.
