Antique Roman Catholic Missal with Gregorian Chant – Leather Binding with Clasps
Large and impressive Roman Catholic liturgical missal in Latin, printed in red and black with numerous pages of Gregorian chant notation.
The volume contains the Ordinary and Proper of the Mass, including Preparatio ad Missam, Canon Missae, and sections for saints’ feast days. Musical passages are printed in traditional square neumes on four-line staves.
Bound in a substantial embossed leather binding featuring a central cross motif, gilt page edges, and original metal clasps. A fine example of ecclesiastical bookbinding.
Condition:
Good antique condition with normal age wear to the binding, minor rubbing, and light interior toning. Clasps present. Pages generally clean and well preserved.
