The Diageo Special Release 2023 Edition "The Wild Explorador" is an exciting reinterpretation of Talisker's maritime DNA. Matured in bourbon casks in coastal warehouses on the Isle of Skye, this whisky was then finished in a spectacular port cask combination – ruby, white, and tawny port casks impart a multifaceted depth of fruit, sweetness, and tannin. Bottled at a robust 59.7% ABV, it blends classic Talisker maritime spice with salty air notes, smoke, and a delicate fruitiness. As always with Talisker, no chill filtration or added coloring has been used – a full-bodied, characterful cask-strength dram.

Aroma: Salty, smoky sea air combined with toasted peat, dark berries, and spicy port notes.
Taste: Creamy and intense – dark fruits, caramelized spice, and a superb mineral component of salt and smoke.
Finish: Long and powerful with recurring sea breeze notes, robust smoke, and late-emerging tannins.
