Decorative ornament

Wonderful freehand sculpture—a pair of fish—executed entirely by a renowned Murano glass master from the Tagliapietra family using the calcedony glass technique. Its distinctive colors come from the calcedony method; the coloring effect is obtained by adding to the molten glass a mixture based on various metal oxides. The results are incredible.
This particular technique was invented in Venice in the late 15th century but only became famous later.
Calcedony glass is a special decorative glass obtained by mixing metals of different colors, mainly green and purple, to imitate semi-precious stones such as agate, chalcedony, onyx, malachite, lapis lazuli, and jasper.

The piece is signed at the base in solid black glass; a certificate is included and shipping is insured and fast.
