I am Ed Mittendorf, an artist aged 84, working under the name Mivillage, and I lived, worked, and exhibited for 18 years in France. I now live and work permanently in the Netherlands.
My works were designed in the “NUL” style of the 1960s. At that time the artists Arnando, Jan Henderikse, Henk Peters and Jan Schoonhoven became known. Internationally the style was called “ZERO”.
This new series of small reliefs is made with cardboard and painted with a self-developed coarse textured paint, and the compositions are handmade; the regular representations are purposely not exact, which characterizes the uniqueness of the works.
In addition to these reliefs, I create in this “NUL” style the Silence and Mondriaan 3D series. The World First - "CrinckleArt". I developed and carried out this technique myself. This work is very well received in Europe.
