Pair of Space Age Table Lamps – Made in Italy – 1960s–1970s

A refined and highly scenographic pair of Space Age table lamps, attributable to high-level Italian production, assignable in style, materials, and construction to the LAM manufactory in Milan, active in the avant-garde design scene between the late sixties and early seventies.

The lamps stand out for an iconic volumetric oval design, strongly evocative of the futuristic aesthetics of the era, where formal research, material innovation, and Italian craftsmanship achieve a balance of great elegance.

Materials and construction
• Upper dome in white satin glass, a premium diffuser that ensures a soft, uniform, and refined light
• Lower body in colored, thin, lightweight acrylic, finely crafted, of excellent quality, perfectly coherent with the best Italian Space Age productions
• Central satin band with visible screws, a structural and aesthetic distinctive element
• Lower base in painted metal, solid and well proportioned
• Original and functioning electrical components

The overall result is an object with great visual balance, elegant both when off and lit.

Light effect and functionality

The lamps offer excellent light output, able to illuminate the space effectively.
With the colored acrylic bodies mounted, the light is filtered and colors the space, creating a warm and strongly scenographic atmosphere (warm and intense tones in the red model, cooler and deeper in the blue model).

The acrylic elements are simply resting and easily removable: once removed, the light becomes more neutral and direct, while maintaining an elegant diffusion thanks to the satin glass dome.
This dual configuration makes the lamps particularly versatile and suitable for both vintage and high-end contemporary interiors.

Condition

The lamps are presented in exceptional condition.
Although vintage objects, they appear practically like new:
• no scratches or signs of wear
• surfaces perfectly polished and intact
• satin glass in impeccable condition

The state suggests long-term storage in a box or extremely limited use, a rare circumstance for objects of this period.
