Large flag of Tunisia from the 1970s. Handmade of cotton fabric, with appliqués of a crescent moon and star.
Tunisia was under French protectorate from 1881 to 1956. Despite this colonial period, the red-and-white flag with a crescent moon and star remained the symbol of Tunisian identity and the drive for independence. After independence in 1956, the same flag was officially retained.
The flag has slight discoloration and stains due to age, but is in good condition.
