Description from the seller
“Castle in the Sand” presents an architecture without function, a construction that does not aspire to be inhabited but to be thought. The vertical and curved forms intersect like vestiges of a system in formation, columns and thresholds that suggest stability while hinting at their own precariousness. It is not about erecting a monument, but about testing the very idea of support: each volume seems to assert itself barely, as if gravity were a hypothesis and not a certainty.
The work dialogues with the tradition of sculptural minimalism and the painting of hard planes, close to the structural clarity of Donald Judd or Ellsworth Kelly, where color does not decorate, but delineates fields of energy. Here warm and cool tones establish spatial tensions rather than emotive atmospheres: space becomes a mental stage where each element is a sign of weight, balance and resistance. The shadows, stark, function as footprints of time, reminding that every form projects a consequence.
In a philosophical sense, the “castle” is not a fortress but a metaphor of the transitory. Like every construction in the sand, its fate is disappearance, and precisely for that reason it gains meaning. The piece suggests that to build is an existential gesture: to order chaos knowing that order will be provisional. More than representing something, the work reflects on the fragility of every human structure, on that obstinacy to raise ephemeral forms to affirm, if only for an instant, our presence in the world.
About MUMA:
MUMA is an artistic duo formed by a Generalist 3D practitioner and Designer and an Art Historian, both trained at CEU San Pablo University in Madrid. Their artistic practice centers on the visual arts, with special interest in color, movement and the dynamism of forms, as well as in variations of the environment. Their work is conceived to integrate into space and establish a direct dialogue with routine and human experience, exploring a vital vision linked to the ideals of impressionism, such as the relationship with nature, color and changing environments. MUMA is connected to the professional world of digital and visual arts in Madrid, with participation in competitions.
About preparation, packaging and shipping of the work:
The work is hand-signed by the artistic duo and comes with an authenticity certificate also signed by them. The canvas, rolled, is carefully packed in a sturdy cardboard tube and will be shipped within three business days after purchase confirmation. The estimated delivery time will depend on the destination and the selected shipping company.
