Original vintage Italian poster of the famous French series “C’est à la France que le monde doit ses ailes,” illustrated by Lucien Cavé.
Subject: Louis Blériot – “Première traversée de la Manche” (July 25, 1909), iconic Art Deco scene with a monoplane in flight over the Channel and coastline with spectators.
Credits on the plate clearly legible: signature “Lucien Cavé,” caption “Édité par le Secrétariat Général à la Défense Aérienne” and printer “La Publicité Synchronisée Lyon-Paris.”
Format: 38 × 29 cm. Back: white with normal transparency/typical ghosting of vintage paper.
Conditions
Overall good, with vivid colors and clean image. Normal signs of aging:
- slight wear and rounding on edges/corners,
- small folds/manipulation marks on margins, particularly on the lower left corner (as shown in photo),
- minor stains and micro-tears localized (see detail photo), larger cut on the upper edge (evident in photo),
- on the back a light imprint/ghosting of the print (not unusual for vintage paper).
Sold as shown in the photos, which are an integral part of the description.
