This original painting by Maurizio Valch presents a symbolic metaphysical landscape where silence, space, and form converge. Minimalist desert-like planes unfold under a deep ultramarine sky, interrupted by red monolithic structures that stand as silent witnesses—traces of human presence within vast inner territories.
A vertical red axis divides and connects both panels, suggesting a threshold, a passage between states of perception. The moon, suspended in stillness, reinforces the contemplative atmosphere and timeless dimension of the scene.
Executed in acrylic on canvas, the work reflects Valch’s ongoing exploration of symbolic landscapes since 2024, where abstraction and surrealism merge to evoke introspection, solitude, and the architecture of consciousness.
About the artist
He is a visual artist, writer and graphic designer, trained in Graphic Design and Fine Arts. He lived in Miami (USA) until 2013, where he ran his own studio, and later in Barcelona (Spain), where he took part in exhibitions at the Royal Artistic Circle. In 2017, he presented a work at the Gran Teatre del Liceu. He has also collaborated with the MACBA.
He works full-time on his pictorial series, which often include recurring symbols such as portals, staircases and night skies, understood as elements charged with personal and symbolic meaning. Each painting is usually accompanied by an original poem.
