Emeterio Ovejero Marcos (1948-2007) is a Spanish painter born in Madrid on December 30, 1948, renowned for his figurative and expressive work in oil on canvas.
He studied Drawing and Painting at the Higher School of Fine Arts of San Fernando, where he completed his studies in 1971.
Subsequently he perfected his technique with professors Sánchez Arjona and Maestro Barrando.
In 1974 he moved to Seville, joining the artistic group “San Juan de Azna.”
His work centers on figurative painting, with a marked expressive character. Many of his pieces explore loneliness, fears, and the human condition.
First Prize in Drawing at the Madrid City Council Collective Exhibition (1961).
Third Prize in Oil Painting at the Madrid City Council Collective Exhibition (1968).
Silver Medal in the III Andalusian and Extremaduran Painting Contest (Seville, 1974).
Diploma of Honor at the XXVIII Biennial Art Exhibition Sala “ART-PRESS” (Pueblo newspaper, 1974).
First Prize in Oil Painting at the Madrid Collective Exhibition (1976).
