Description from the seller

Small triangular crystal dish, model “Patelle,” produced by the Cristalleries du Val Saint Lambert around the 1960s. This piece belongs to the post-war creations, a period during which the glassworks explored free and organic shapes while maintaining a high level of technical mastery of crystal. The “Patelle” model stands out for its fluid, asymmetric design, characteristic of the decorative vocabulary of the 1950s–60s, where function is combined with a pronounced sculptural search.

The coupe adopts a triangular shape with rounded corners, evoking a shell or a marine patella. The crystal, a bright blue with deeper tones in thickness, is animated by a spinning movement that starts at the center and expands toward the edges. The internal lines seem carved by a wave, creating a dynamic play of curves and planes that catches the light from different angles. The edge, slightly raised and irregular, reinforces this impression of natural movement. The base is signed at the center “Val Saint Lambert,” a discreet yet clear engraving, perfectly integrated into the composition.

The set is in good overall condition. There are traces of use visible inside the coupe, in the form of superficial marks consistent with careful domestic use. No cracks or chips are to report, and the crystal structure remains perfectly sound, preserving all its transparency and its brilliance.

In the 1960s, Val Saint Lambert continued its international influence by adapting its historic know-how to contemporary tastes. After Art Deco and the Luxval large series, the Belgian manufacturer moved toward freer shapes, sometimes inspired by nature and modern design, while maintaining a high level of quality. The “Patelle” model well illustrates this transitional period, where crystal tradition meets the organic and expressive aesthetics of the mid-20th century.

Dimensions are:
- Height: 5 centimeters,
- Upper diameter: 16.3 centimeters,
- Base diameter: 4.5 centimeters,
- Weight: 875 grams.

The coupe will be carefully packaged and shipped quickly in a secure manner. In-store pickup and combined delivery are available. The photos are part of the description.
