Description from the seller
“Sombra Palpable” is framed within a clear cubist heritage, understood not as historical quotation but as a method of visual thinking: to explore form through its fragmentation, its shadow, and its projection. The figures are built from simplified volumes that, far from asserting themselves as stable bodies, fold, overlap, and reflect one another, generating a constant tension between three-dimensionality and flatness.
The shadows here do not act merely as optical effect, but as active matter: they cling to the shapes, duplicate them, and transform them, giving rise to new configurations that oscillate between what is recognizable and what is abstract. These spontaneous reflections on the pictorial plane dissolve the boundary between figure and ground, making both participate in the same structural system.
In this game of intersections, the work proposes a reflection on perception: what seems to have volume reveals itself as surface, and what seems to be surface suggests depth. Thus, the image is not offered as a closed form, but as a field of relations where the figures and their shadows come together to produce an unstable, open reality in permanent negotiation between what we see and what we intuit.
About MUMA:
MUMA is an artistic duo formed by a Generalist 3D practitioner and Designer and an Art Historian, both educated at CEU San Pablo University in Madrid. Their artistic practice centers on the plastic arts, with particular interest in color, movement, and the dynamism of forms, as well as variations in the environment. Their work is conceived to integrate into space and establish direct dialogue with routine and human experience, exploring a vital vision linked to the ideals of Impressionism, such as the relationship with nature, color, and changing environments. MUMA is tied to the professional world of digital and plastic arts in Madrid, with participation in competitions.
About preparation, packaging, and shipping of the work:
The work is hand-signed by the artistic duo and also comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by them.
