Carlo Trevisan's oil on canvas artwork Gozzo volante, 70 x 70 cm, created in 2025 and in excellent condition, is signed by hand and presented as an original edition, depicting a white fishing boat with red accents floating in a blue‑grey, dreamlike seascape.
Description from the seller
In this oil painting on canvas by Carlo Trevisan, significantly titled in the file as "Gozzo volante", the artist transports us to a suspended and dreamlike dimension, typical of his surrealist signature.
At the center of the composition dominates a gozzo, the typical Mediterranean fishing boat, rendered with clean and almost graphic realism.
The boat is depicted with a white hull, marked by a thin red line and a keel in a brighter red that immediately catches the eye.
The breaking element with reality is the absence of water. The boat and its oars do not float, but drift in an indefinite space, a hazy atmosphere made of cerulean and blue-gray hues that suggests an infinite sky or a sea emptied of its physical substance.
The oars, detached from the oarsmen, seem to dance in the void following independent trajectories, accentuating the sense of isolation and silence.
The work communicates a deep sense of anticipation and metaphysical peace, where time appears immobile.
The masterful use of sfumato in the background contrasts with the decisive lines of the vessel, creating a depth effect that prompts the viewer to question the nature of the place depicted.
The painting measures 70x70x4 cm, ready to hang because it is also painted on the edge of the canvas.
