Description from the seller
SCARCE, PHOTOBOOK BY LUCIEN CLERGUE - WITH THE VERY SCARCE SLIPCASE (so scarce that it was not shown by Martin Parr):
Martin Parr, The Photobook, vol 1, page 219.
The most beautiful edition of that title ever published, also much more beautiful than the original, first French one (which was published with red linen and with acetate dustjacket and without photo-illustrated slipcase).

Battenberg, Stuttgart, 1963. First German edition, first printing.
Original hardback with original slipcase. 263 x 263 mm. 52 pages. 30 black and white photographs. Photos: Lucien Clergue. Poem and text by Jean Cocteau. Text by Jean-Marie Magnan. Text in German.
Condition:
Book inside clean with no marks and with no foxing; pages smell like smoke, at two parts (see pictures) with (surface) paper loss in the middle (happens very often with this title, so seems to be a production problem). Book outside with fresh covers; spine yellowed (often the case) and with some small stains. Slipcase with quite normal trace of use, complete with no tears and with no missing parts; yellowed (often the case), a bit rubbed at the open ends. Overall fine condition.
Scarce, sought-after photobook - with the very scarce original slipcase.
