Original work by Antoni Pitxot Soler (1934–2023), titled Composición Matérica 2003, a mixed media piece on cardboard measuring 19 × 23 cm, signed and dated on the front and dedicated and signed by the artist on the reverse, in very good condition and without a frame.
Description from the seller
Technique: Mixed media on cardboard (oil, ink and line drawing)
Dimensions: 19 × 23 cm
Signature: Signed and dated “Pitxot 03” on the front
Back: Dedicated and signed by the artist, with a congratulatory note dated 2005
Condition: Very good. Stable support and firm pictorial layer.
Framed: No. It is presented unframed.
Original work created in 2003, in the mature period of the artist, where the material language and graphic experimentation reach full consolidation.
The composition combines thick application of oil with ink intervention and line drawing, generating a vibrant and structured surface. The pictorial matter, applied with energy, creates reliefs and densities that contrast with the linear weftings of the background.
The use of bluish grays, earth tones and an intense orange focal point provides depth and visual tension, alluding to the organic and almost geologic universe characteristic of the artist in his most personal works.
The fact that this is a dedicated piece adds an intimate and documentary component within his production.
Small format but of great expressive power, ideal for collectors seeking original representative works with character.
Antoni Pitxot Soler (Figueres, 1934 – 2023) was a key figure in the contemporary Catalan art scene and a close collaborator of Salvador Dalí. Director of the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres for years, he developed a personal body of work marked by organic structures, strong materiality and a language that combines surrealist heritage with his own expressionism.
His work is present in public and private collections and remains an active market among specialized collectors.
