Andy Warhol (1928–1987) was an American artist, filmmaker and co-founder of Pop Art. With iconic motifs such as Marilyn Monroe, Campbell’s Soup Cans, and Flowers, he revolutionized the art world of the 20th century. Warhol’s work blends consumer culture, media aesthetics and serial image production – central features of postwar American art.
Collaboration with Rosenthal Porcelain
In the 1980s, Andy Warhol collaborated with the German traditional company Rosenthal Porcelain. Within the framework of the renowned “Rosenthal Studio-Line,” Warhol transferred his famous Pop-Art motifs onto limited porcelain objects, particularly collectible plates and art porcelain editions.
