All automatic watches require winding at first use; relying on wrist movement alone is not enough to maintain the required power reserve.

RULE FOR ALL DAY-DATE WATCHES
To avoid potential damage to the watch mechanism, please do not set the date with the crown when the time is between 21:00 and 03:00. It is recommended to set the date with the crown when the time is between 03:05 and 20:55 (some models have a screw-down crown; for settings, gently unscrew the crown counterclockwise. Do not forget to securely screw the crown back after adjusting).
