Esther Cela's original acrylic on canvas titled La hora del baile (2026), a multicolour contemporary naïve scene of a coastal village dance, 132 × 93 cm, signed by hand, unframed, weight 2 kg.
Description from the seller
Original naïf-contemporary style work that represents a festive scene in a coastal town. The composition centers on a group of characters dancing on the beach to the sound of a street musician, turning music and movement into the emotional axis of the scene.
The soft-colored facades facing the sea build a bright and welcoming Mediterranean atmosphere, where everyday life transforms into spontaneous celebration. The scene conveys simplicity, closeness, and the joy of sharing ordinary moments that become lasting memories.
Recurring symbolic elements in the artist's oeuvre, such as the festive pennants and the clock located on the main façade, reinforce the conceptual reading of the piece. The clock alludes to the passage of time and the fleeting nature of those happy moments that are lived almost without noticing, while the pennants evoke community, gathering, and collective celebration.
The presence of the musician and of children and adults who approach the scene creates an open narrative where spectators and participants coexist, inviting the viewer to feel part of the moment.
The work is part of contemporary figurative art with a personal naïf language, valuing everyday life, coexistence, and the beauty of small shared social rituals by the sea.
