Laurent Anastay Ponsolle’s original Noir Passion, 160 × 210 cm, oil and pastel on canvas, created in 2023, in figurative expressionist style, signed by hand and shipped unstretched with a signed certificate of authenticity.
Description from the seller
A young artist exhibited at the Centre Pompidou in September 2025 during the event dedicated to Young French Creation, Laurent Anastay-Ponsolle is a French expressionist artist born in 1982. Drawing, painting, collage, and performance are the languages he explores with strength and spontaneity.
This painting is the result of a collaboration between the artist and contemporary dancer Mathilde Plateau. It was created during a live performance: Mathilde was dancing while Laurent was drawing in movement. You can watch the performance video here: https://vimeo.com/826698655?fl=pl&fe=ti
It is an ode to dance, freedom, and desire. The overall feel of the piece is raw, almost “skin-stripped” and deeply sensitive — qualities closely associated with German figurative expressionism, a movement with which the artist strongly identifies.
The artwork will be shipped unstretched (canvas only), carefully packaged in a box with protective bubble wrap. The lower edge of the canvas is slightly irregular in length; it is best displayed directly on the wall without a stretcher frame.
Fast and secure shipping. The artwork is accompanied by a signed certificate of authenticity.
Figurative expressionism, femininity, contemporary dance, sensuality
