Hildegard Stehr, still life with garlic, oil on canvas, 31 × 25 cm, 2025, original, hand-signed, in excellent condition, Netherlands, with a digital certificate of authenticity.
Description from the seller
Oil on canvas
Dimensions: 31 x 25 cm.
This painting shows a beautifully balanced composition with garlic as the central motifs. The carefully coordinated colors reinforce the whole and create a harmonious appearance. A digital certificate of authenticity is included with the work.
Rhythm and structure form the core of Hildegard Stehr's work. Initially trained as a graphic designer at the Royal Academy of Visual Arts in Den Bosch, she developed a visual language in which order and irregularity challenge each other. Her work is characterized by rhythmically built-up planes, stacked forms, and a dynamic play of light and shadow. Stehr plays with contrasts such as smooth and rough, cuts and tears, strength and vulnerability. Her apparent simplicity is the result of careful consideration.
The artist has been regularly invited to exhibitions. Her work is in private collections in Europe and beyond.
