René Prin was born on January 15, 1905, in Mortery, Seine-et-Marne. He led a modest but passionate life, dividing his time between the kitchen of the family business La Mère Corbeau and his true calling: painting.
Inspired by Post-Impressionism, he received guidance, among others, from his friend Maximilien Luce, which influenced some of his works in Rolleboise. He mainly painted with oil on canvas, cardboard, or panel, and his paintings often depict scenes of rain, villages, and nature, with a soft and melancholic atmosphere.
His works have been exhibited in many galleries, and he is still active on the art market today, especially in France.
René Prin died in 1985 and is buried in the cemetery of Pacy-sur-Eure.
