Description from the seller
Untitled 18 from the series A SUMMER WITHOUT END
Unique work, signed and numbered 1/1
Black-and-white print on baryta paper enhanced with oil painting.
"There is in childhood summers a certain indefinable something of timelessness. On this small stretch of shore in southern Finistère, where friends, cousins, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren gather every year, nothing hinders the freedom of movement. The beach offers an unlimited playground and only the landscapes and activities vary with the tides. This time so pleasantly repetitive — beach, swimming, snacks — gives a sensation of eternity; summer cannot end… Summer is without end."
Irène Jonas is a photographer and sociologist.
Born in 1958, she lives in Paris and in Guilvinec in southern Finistère.
