Description from the seller

Silver-Plated Biscuit Box – Claridge – London – Octagonal with Lion Mask Handles – Early 20th Century

Elegant silver-plated octagonal biscuit box, stamped “CLARIDGE” on the base, most likely commissioned for or used by the famous Claridge’s Hotel in London.

The box features a strong geometric design with a domed faceted lid and classical finial. The sides are decorated with sculptural lion mask ring handles, a traditional symbol of prestige and quality often seen in high-end hotel silver.

The hinged lid opens smoothly and the interior is in very good condition. The interior appears warm-toned in the photos due to lighting, but in reality it has a light silver-grey finish.

England – London

Height: approx. 18 cm
Width: approx. 15 cm
Depth: approx. 15 cm
