Description from the seller

Art Deco Silver Plated & Vermeil Cake Serving Set – Original Case – France – ca. 1925

An elegant and refined Art Deco cake serving set, comprising a cake server and a matching slicing knife, preserved in its original fitted presentation case.

Both pieces measure approximately 29 cm in length and are crafted in silver plate with a delicate beaded (pearl) border handle design, typical of French tableware from the 1920s–1930s.

The serving parts are finished in vermeil (gilded surface), traditionally used for pastries, cakes or desserts to prevent oxidation and enhance presentation. Visible light wear to the gilding, consistent with age and use.

The blades feature a beautiful geometric openwork Art Deco motif, adding refinement and lightness to the design.

Period: ca. 1920–1935
Origin: France
Material: Silver plated, vermeil serving surface
Length: 29 cm each
Decoration: Openwork geometric motif
Handles: Pearl border (beaded edge)

Condition: Good antique condition. Surface scratches and wear to gilding (see photos). Original case shows age-related wear.

A stylish and decorative serving set, ideal for cake, pastry or festive dessert presentation.
