Geisha is an original mixed‑media oil and acrylic painting by Sergio Zampieri (Italy, 2026), an abstract portrait on cotton canvas 80 x 60 cm, signed by hand, with a gold, iridescent and metallic palette, sold directly from the artist's studio in Rome and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
Description from the seller
Beautiful original unpublished work by the contemporary painter Sergio Zampieri (Rome, 1968).
The painting was created in two stages using mixed media, oil and acrylic.
In the first phase, for the base subject, exclusively oil paints were used to allow a perfect fusion of the forms, starting from a dark background of Payne’s gray and proceeding with the addition of lighter gradations such as white and gray for the monochromatic realization of the human face.
After the oils had dried, the final decoration was applied with iridescent acrylic pastes in gold-yellow, gold leaf, silver, bronze, and pearl white. The work, with this gilded division, evokes the elegance and mystery of geishas, who often conceal their identity behind layers of tradition.
The final effect, as seen in the photographs, is the result of a very material work in the iridescences with a play of light and shadow that shapes itself according to the position of the light source. The chromatic balance of red and gold is excellent, giving the piece great refinement and symbolic intensity.
The work is archived and permanently viewable on the artist’s official site www.sergiozampieri.it where you can find further information about his artistic path.
