Christiane Stenfort was born in 1940 in Dinan, Brittany. From 1958 to 1968, she studied drawing at La Providence and at the Daubé Workshop in Saint-Brieuc, Brittany. In 1968, she moved to Morocco, where her paintings are imbued with the warm colors of Africa. Her undeniable talent as a colorist fully matured there. In 1971, she returned to Nantes and studied at the Beaux-Arts. From 1974 to 1980, she lived in Reims, in Champagne, as a student of the Beaux-Arts, where she collaborated with a team of painters specializing in oil painting. She settled in Rouen in 1980 and worked in Viviane Favre’s studio until 1984. In the same year, she met Albert MALET, the last great painter of the Rouen School. Under his guidance, she affirmed her talent as an impressionist, marking a decisive turning point in her career. She made her debut at the Galerie du Comptoir Rouennais in 1986, and her first exhibition at the Palais des Congrès de Rouen was a true success. Since then, she has regularly exhibited. In 1988, she won the First Prize for Oil Painting at the Salon Arts et Création in Marseille. She was also a finalist at the 24th Cannes International Prize and at the 39th Deauville International Salon. She has also received several medals (gold, silver, and bronze) at various exhibitions.
Her works are represented in private collections in Germany, the United States, England, Denmark, Japan, Sweden, and Canada.
