AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Authentic architectural fragment from the southern Indian Chettinad region (Tamil Nadu).
The carved figure depicts a Yakshi/Devata in Tribhanga pose, richly adorned and typical of Dravidian temple architecture. Such figures served as consoles under roof overhangs (Bracket Figures) and originate from traditional Nagarathar houses or temples.

The figure bears a strong, old soot- and smoke-patina. Several age-related cracks from drying, minor losses, abrasion of the pigments and weathering are present; good original condition. These features emphasize its character as a historic temple fragment.

Please examine all photos carefully; they are part of the description.
