Dimensions of the drawing: 64 cm x 49 cm.
Jacques SECHAUD, born in Les Pavillons-sous-Bois (93) in 1926 – died in Nice in 2014.
Graduated from the École Supérieure des Arts Appliqués and the École Normale Supérieure de l’Enseignement Technique, a teacher of visual arts, he taught for 20 years at the Lycée du Parc Impérial in Nice.
Jacques Séchaud who mingled with Arman and César for many years.
As he had just retired, Jacques Séchaud began a series of drawings about César, an artist he deeply admired.
The master of compression, impressed by the quality of his drawings, advised him to present them to Jean Ferrero, who immediately commissioned two series on Arman and César. Thus, over nearly four years, he produced more than 300 drawings, of which 250 are part of the Ferrero Donation to the City of Nice.
A selection of these drawings was exhibited until September 19, 2016 at the Espace de la Donation Ferrero.
