Description from the seller

Johannes Theodorus “Jan” Giesen (1900–1983) was a Dutch painter, graphic artist, sculptor and stained-glass artist from The Hague. He studied at the Tekeninstituut Bik en Vaandrager and the Royal Academy of Visual Arts in The Hague. From 1929 to 1946 he taught at the The Hague art academy.

Giesen was a member of the artists' association De Grafische in Amsterdam. His work continues to be appreciated, even though abstract art became dominant after World War II. Earlier there had been a Jan Giesen exhibition at Museum Panorama Mesdag.

Beautiful work, delivered in a nice frame, which is shown separately in the photos. It is neatly packaged including the frame and can be hung on the wall.
