Description from the seller
Renaissance Devotional Triptych - Golden Wood Frame
General Description
Elegant triptych with great decorative presence that pays homage to European classical painting of the 15th and 16th centuries. The piece features a format of three independent panels that depict fundamental scenes of Christian iconography, centered on the figure of the Virgin Mary and the infancy of Jesus.
Panel Details
The set stands out for the vividness of its colors and the surface treatment, designed to emulate the patina of ancient boards:
Panel Left: Represents the Adoration of the Holy Family. A composition in the Mannerist style where the chromatic use in the robes of the Virgin and Saint Joseph stands out.
Panel Center: Inspired by the famous "Virgin with the Child" by Joos van Cleve (Flemish school). Includes symbolic elements such as the Book of Hours and a detailed background landscape with Renaissance architecture.
Panel Right: Represents the Holy Family with the young Saint John the Baptist, following classical Italian models influenced by masters such as Raphael.
Technical Sheet
Technique: Artistic print on panel with textured finish.
Support: Rigid board made of pressed wood (uniform dark-toned back).
Frame: Robust wooden frame with classical moldings and high-quality gilded finish, with intentional aging effects to enhance its antique character.
Condition: Good state of conservation, with signs of the passage of time.
The frame presents a stable patina and the images retain their original brightness and definition.
