Silver frame from the 19th century, repoussé and chasing finely worked, as visible in the acanthus leaf decorations.
Probably intended for noble portraits in polychrome enamels, excellent Italian craftsmanship.
It has no particular signs of breakage or repairs.
Beautiful intact example of a repoussé and chasing frame.
Acid test for silver conducted as shown in the photo.
