Description from the seller
Title: Terrace on the Blue Silence
Oil on canvas in a horizontal format, the work opens like a luminous window onto a Mediterranean landscape paused between reality and memory. In the foreground, lush and vibrant vegetation explodes into a symphony of greens, reds, pinks, and purples, built with dense, tactile brushstrokes that convey the scent and movement of flowers swayed by the sea breeze. The colors are laid down with a free and confident gesture, creating a living weave that immediately catches the eye.
On the left, a perched village unfolds in clear, rosy volumes, barely hinted yet recognizable, as if it were slowly emerging from the light. The houses, layered and irregular, converse with the mountain in the background, rendered in tones of blue and gradating blues, which give depth and a sense of atmospheric distance. The painting here becomes more synthetic, almost evocative, leaving room for emotion rather than descriptive detail.
To the center and toward the right, the sea dominates the composition with an intense and luminous azure, calm and silent, interrupted only by light, clear brushstrokes that suggest reflections and distances.
A stone terrace, with pots of fuchsia and pink flowers, introduces a human and intimate element, inviting the observer to linger, to contemplate the horizon.
The sky, wide and airy, is threaded by soft and moving clouds, painted with light and quick touches that amplify the sense of light and serenity.
The ensemble conveys an atmosphere of luminous calm and Mediterranean poetry, where color becomes the true protagonist and reality is filtered through a warm, emotional, and deeply contemplative painterly sensibility.
