Lina Verano - Favignana's Rocks

This artwork is inspired by the island of Favignana , is 76 cm x 108 cm ( including border for stretching in case you wish to frame it with a mat) , oil paint and mix technique on high-quality canvas, 2025, this is a unique, hand painted artwork.
Favignana’s Rocks is a meditation on the elemental dialogue between sea, stone, and light. Inspired by the dramatic coastline of Favignana in Sicily, the painting explores the moment when waves crash against the rugged rocks, dissolving the boundary between solid and fluid. The forms are intentionally ambiguous—rocks become waves, and waves become clouds—reflecting the constant transformation present in coastal landscapes.
The deep blues evoke the power and depth of the Mediterranean, while the expansive whites suggest foam, wind, and light breaking across the surface. Thick textures and layered brushstrokes mirror the physical energy of the sea, allowing the materiality of paint to echo the tactile nature of rock and water.
Rather than depicting a literal view, the work captures a memory of place: the sensation of standing at the edge of the island, feeling the force of the sea and the vast openness of the sky. Favignana’s Rocks invites the viewer to enter this shifting space where nature’s raw energy meets moments of quiet contemplation.

The artwork will be shipped as a rolled, unstretched canvas for safe delivery. Packaged in tube box and wrapped properly.
Rolled works can be easily stretched (for canvas works, i.e. placed onto wooden stretcher bars) and/or framed by a local framer upon arrival completely normal for rolled canvas. Minor waves or creases may be visible upon arrival, which is completely normal for rolled canvas. These will disappear once the canvas is stretched or framed by a professional framer.
All my shipments will be made through DHL EXPRESS or a similar company , always trying to guarantee the safety, care and efficient delivery of the work. However, delays that may occur in the case of goods are beyond my control; I will always be attentive to tracking the shipment and any incident that may arise, being at the customer's disposal to provide appropriate assistance and support.
