Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Starry Sky is a unique bas-relief hand-signed in resin diplast, acrylics and wood, measuring 24 cm wide by 30 cm high by 3 cm deep, made in Italy in 2026, in excellent condition, with an edition of Pezzo unico and a certificate of authenticity delivered in a rigid packing.
Description from the seller
Bas-relief made up of small and precious faces. It is a one-of-a-kind work because each piece has been painted and assembled manually. The materials used are Diplast plaster and acrylic paints. The whole piece is housed in a wooden frame.
The artwork is composed of a grid-like arrangement of small colored tiles, each characterized by a thin abstract facial imprint. The repetition of the facial motif within the grid suggests themes of identity, diversity, and unity. The textured surface adds depth and invites tactile exploration, while the overall structure evokes a sense of order and rhythm. This artwork could explore the intersection between individuality and collectivity through the lens of abstract portraiture. The use of color is particularly striking, emphasizing both contrast and cohesion. The piece could be seen as a comment on how faces, while unique, form part of a larger mosaic of human experience. It invites viewers to reflect on the diversity of expression and emotion within an apparently uniform scheme.
Salvatore Alibrio, born in 1991, is an artist who has developed significant sculptural research, participating in exhibitions and symposia, including those promoted by the Academy of Fine Arts of Catania. His practice explores artistic language through an iconographic vocabulary that unites tradition and experimentation. He uses materials such as stone, marble and clay, revealing a deep connection with his cultural roots. His work addresses contemporary social issues, often reflecting on current tragedies. Alibrio reinterprets the recognizable through a logic of fragmentation, stimulating critical reflections. His mastery of materials and rigorous approach contribute to developing an autonomous artistic language, capable of expressing tension and strength.
"In the dialogue between matter and meaning, sculpture becomes a fragment of truth, able to tell the stories of our contemporary world and the roots that unite us to the past." - S. Alibrio
The work will be provided with a certificate of authenticity and will be shipped inside a rigid outer packaging.
